They are termite/white ant proof, they won’t rot, twist or warp providing you peace of mind knowing that your retaining wall will remain strong and attractive for years to come. 

 While the initial cost of concrete sleepers may be higher than timber, they prove to be a more cost-effective option in the long run, when comparing to other alternatives like brick or besser block walls, concrete sleepers can save you two-thirds of the cost. 

Absolutely! Concrete sleepers can be cut using a demolition saw with a diamond cutting blade. It’s important to be aware that concrete sleepers contain two N-12 bars inside them. We advise painting the cut end of the sleeper with epoxy paint to protect the exposed N-12 bars.  Unfortunately we do not offer a cutting service.

The best way to ensure compliance is to have the wall designed and approved by professionals. In some cases, you may need to engage the services of a structural engineer. The process can involve submitting a building application with your local council, engaging a qualified professional, such as an architect or engineer, to prepare your plans then a building certifier to review and approve your plans.  

Concrete sleepers typically do not require painting. However, if you prefer a darker appearance, you can use a concrete sealant. If cutting a sleeper, we recommend using epoxy paint to encapsulate the N-12 bars inside them for added protection.
